Dental Bridges

dental-bridgesIf you have one or more missing teeth, then a dental bridge may be the ideal solution to restore your oral health and bring back your beautiful smile. It is extremely important to repair these gaps, as not doing so could cause you serious oral health problems in the future.

Gaps from missing teeth left unattended could cause your remaining teeth to shift. Without having these teeth for support, your other teeth will eventually move out of place which could cause serious problems with your bite.

What are Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges are made for your exact specifications, to fill in gaps that may have occurred between teeth. Regardless if your gap is from sudden injury or decay, a dental bridge is a great option for patients who want to restore their oral health and beautify their smile at the same time.

How Do Dental Bridges Work?

A dental bridge relies on the surrounding teeth support. Our experts will make a fully analysis of your surrounding teeth to determine if they are healthy and able to be used as a foundation for your dental bridge. (The surrounding teeth are typically referred to as “ambutments.”) Once the health of your surrounding teeth is established, we gently prepare them to support your dental bridge. A dental bridge normally consists of two crowns. One crown is place on one side of the gap where you have missing teeth, and the second crown is placed on the opposite side. These two crowns are then used as anchors for your new bridge, sometimes referred to as a false tooth/teeth, or pontics.
